Children During Worship

We have two staffed Nurseries available at our Sunday 10:00 a.m. Worship Service for infants and for beginner walkers up to 36 months. All of our teachers and helpers have completed background checks and are expected to follow Northside’s policies and procedures. If you have questions, feel free to contact Stephanie Howell.

Children’s Worship is available for 3 year olds through kindergarten

For 1st through 6th grades, Jim Gardner provides “Worship Notes” as a tool to help children stay engaged and be included during his sermons. Several words are listed at the top of the page and when the child hears Jim say those words, they are to make tally marks. There is also a fill in the blank section in which the answers can easily be found in the Powerpoint slides shared throughout the lesson.

We have Bible classes for children at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. Join us!

Sunday Morning Classes: 9:00 a.m.

In the same that Jesus “grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man, ” (Luke 2:52) we seek to partner with parents in the spiritual development of our children. We do not seek to replace the parents as spiritual leaders in the lives of children, our goal is to supplement spiritual growth in the home.

Our Bible classes start with our youngest who are able to sit up in a highchair type seat. Cradle Roll is for babies up to 23 months. Cradle Roll and 2-year old teachers are using the Palma Smiley curriculum. These classes are taught by song and rhyme. The children remember and anticipate the lessons that are based on repetition.

To help kids study the Bible, these are the curriculums we use:

3-year olds through Kindergarten: HeartShaper

1st through 5th Grade: The Gospel Project

6th Grade: The Book of John and the Book of Acts. These pre-teens will have a good study of the life of Christ and the history of the Church before entering the youth group in 7th grade.

Wednesday Evening Bible Classes: 6:30 p.m.

*Cradle Roll and 2-year olds: Palma Smiley curriculum.

*Pre-K through Kindergarten: HeartShaper curriculum.

*1st Grade through 4th Grades

Jesus was the master at using creative objects—like coins, fish, and lilies—to connect eternal truths to everyday life.

With Hands-On Bible Curriculum, kids experience the same powerful connections between Scripture and everyday life by engaging all five of their senses. The Bible comes alive!

*5th & 6th Grades use a curriculum called Forged: Faith Refined to help preteens develop a worldview based on God’s perspective. This Bible study is designed to encourage and teach preteens the unchanging truth of God’s Word as they are grappling with an ever-changing culture around them. The Bible can help refine their faith and prepare them to understand and interact with the world around them with a biblical worldview. They will explore biblical truth in various areas of preteens’ lives and help them evaluate how to live gospel centered lives in their community and world.

We also use Grapple that is speciffically designed for this age group to help them develop their own faith.

Somewhere between leaving childhood behind and treading wide-eyed into the teenage years lurk a thousand bewildering questions. Where did God come from? How come I’m not perfect? Why doesn’t everyone go to heaven?

Preteens need God’s truth. Grapple helps them find it–and build a relationship with Jesus that’ll last.

These lessons—based on real questions asked by real 10- to 12-year-olds—grab their attention and don’t let go. Kids will learn how to search the Bible for answers and build a faith foundation that guides wise choices.

Northside Bible Camp

4th-12th Grade

Northside campers participate in a mid-summer Bible Camp at Corin Reed Christian Camp. We always have a great time playing games, swimming, hiking, and being together, but the most important thing we do at camp is study God’s Word. We spend the week in June focused on a specific topic or scripture for the purpose of growing our faith in Jesus!

Northside Beginner Camp

1st-3rd Grade

The purpose of Beginner’s Camp is to introduce children to camp so that they will know what to expect when they are old enough to go to our week-long camp, as well as get them excited. This camp is a one-night camp in June. If your child is not comfortable sleeping overnight, we do allow campers to be a day camper. By the time kids are finished with 2nd grade, they are excitedly anticipating going to the week long camp the following year.
